A major accident took place in Jaipur’s Manoharpur area on Tuesday when a private bus carrying brick kiln workers from Uttar Pradesh came in contact with a high-tension power line, leading to a fire that killed two people and left ten others injured.

According to police, the bus was transporting over 50 labourers from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh to a brick kiln in Manoharpur. Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed grief over the loss of lives.

The incident occurred when gas cylinders and other household items placed on the roof of the bus touched an overhead live wire while it was passing through an internal kaccha road near a village. The contact triggered a massive electric current, setting the vehicle ablaze.
