BRAINERD — Minnesota Power, Otter Tail Power Company and Great River Energy hosted an open house Thursday, Oct. 23, to provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide feedback on the Maple River-Cuyuna 345 kV transmission project’s preliminary routes.

Landowners, concerned citizens and those looking for more information on the project came out to the listening session Thursday at The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes. The project was on display with detailed maps available for review. Project team members were on hand to answer questions at the open houses.

The proposed Maple River-Cuyuna Project is a new, approximately 160-mile-long, single-circuit 345 kV transmission line on double-circuit capable structures from Minnesota Power’s Cuyuna Substation near Riverton to Otter Tail
