One month, three cities, 11 livestream events, no guest list, and zero profit: La Watchparty is democratizing fashion on- and offline, and it’s only just beginning.
Even for industry insiders, fashion show tickets can be hard to come by—some more than others—and this summer, none was more coveted than Jonathan Anderson’s menswear debut for Dior. In June, when Lyas—a monomymous fashion commentator, creator, and recognized insider who has amassed nearly 1 million followers across social platforms—found himself without an invite to the week’s most anticipated runway, he turned to his audience, and to a bar in Paris, to hold a public viewing for the show’s livestream. And so, the first iteration of La Watchparty was born. It was an immediate hit, too.
