The spookiest day of the year is just a few days away and after a stretch of rain and chilly temperatures, more wet weather is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service , a cold system moving down from Canada is expected to settle over Middle Tennessee late on Oct. 28, bringing a high chance of steady rain from the evening into Oct. 29.

By the afternoon and evening hours Oct. 29, the rain will become more scattered, with showers lingering into the night as the system remains overhead.

On Oct. 30, the system will begin lifting into the northeast, but it may still leave behind some showers, especially in eastern parts of the region, wrote the weather service. Temperatures will stay cold, with highs ranging from the upper 40s to upper 50s.
