BRUNSWICK, Maine — Getting help for mental health or substance use issues can feel overwhelming, especially when support services are hard to access. But a new center in Brunswick is aiming to change that.
Sweetser, a nonprofit mental health provider, officially opened the doors Tuesday to its new SupportME Peer Center. The space is designed to offer free, inclusive, and nonjudgmental support to anyone navigating mental health or substance use challenges.
“Together we’re making sure Mainers have access to care, connection, and the hope they deserve,” Jayne Van Bramer, president of Sweetser, said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Unlike some other treatment facilities, the new center is barrier-free:
No cost to participate
No insurance required
No need to share your full name
