TRAVERSE CITY — Northwest Michigan is making incremental — but measurable — progress on meeting its regional housing needs but still faces numerous challenges in an uncertain economic and political climate.

That was the message from presenters at the 11th annual Northwest Housing Summit this week presented by Housing North at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City. The event drew more than 200 attendees Monday and Tuesday for a series of panel discussions, workshops, a regional bus tour and presentations from some of Michigan’s leading housing and economic development officials.
