The Bruins defense got some reinforcement on Tuesday.
Hampus Lindholm was activated from injured reserve ahead of Boston’s game against the New York Islanders, the team announced.
Lindholm was placed on IR on Oct. 26 after he suffered an injury on Oct. 9. Bruins coach Marco Sturm classified the injury as minor and not related to the broken kneecap the defenseman suffered last year that kept him sidelined for most of 2024-25.
To make room for Lindholm , the Bruins sent Michael Callahan to Providence.
Lindholm injured himself in Boston’s home opener against the Chicago Blackhawks. The extent of the injury is unknown. He returned to play against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 18 , but hasn’t played since.
