A Connecticut man has been charged in a hit-and-run that killed a 12-year-old boy earlier this year, police announced Tuesday.
Juan Carlos Umana-Umana, a 41-year-old Stamford resident , surrendered to police on Monday after a warrant was issued for his arrest, the Stamford Police Department said on Facebook.
Umana-Umana was charged in connection with the Aug. 2 crash in Stamford that killed Brisley Reyes , who was just about to start seventh grade at Dolan Middle School.
Reyes was riding a mini bike along with a relative riding a scooter when they pulled over to the shoulder of Courtland Avenue for unknown reasons, according to police.
