Someone in The Colony won more than $1 million in a Texas Two Step drawing earlier this month.

The Texas Lottery said the winner, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed a jackpot worth $1,075,005 in the Oct. 16 drawing. The claimant also won $5 on the same ticket.

After federal taxes, the prize should be worth more than $675,000. Texas does not have a state tax on lottery winnings.

The prize-winning Quick Pick ticket was bought at Mr. T’s Market on Big Spring Street in Midland.

Texas Two Step jackpots start at $200,000 and are played similarly to the multi-state Powerball and Mega Millions lotteries.
