TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Taylorville Fire Department responded to a minor house fire in an attic Tuesday morning.
On Oct. 28 around 9:30 a.m., Taylorville firefighters responded to a house fire in the 800 block of East Ash Street. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the attic of the home.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, and crews on the scene performed an extensive overhaul to ensure that the flames didn't spread. The residents were home at the time of the fire but were able to get out safely with their pets. No one was hurt.
The Red Cross is assisting the homeowners. The Taylorville Fire Department said the cause of this fire was determined to be accidental.
