To show that past sacrifices haven’t been forgotten, Christ Church’s Remembrance Day vigil will return to the downtown Chatham cenotaph.
Individual and groups are taking part in the annual event, which will run on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Nov. 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. as a lead-in to the remembrance service.
Rev. John Maroney, the church’s pastor, said the time slots are one hour each, with not only church members and the public participating, but also first responders.
“We’re being joined by an organization called the Guardians of Honour,” he said Tuesday. “They will be doing the vigil through the night. They are retired police officers, retired firefighters, EMS.
“It is a complete vigil, uninterrupted … They did that last year. We are most appreciative.”
