There was a play — a very unique play, at that — in the Eagles’ win over the Giants on Sunday that made waves on social media and led to a few laughs.
Eagles safety Sydney Brown, who’s known for his aggressiveness on the field, went airborne on kickoff coverage. In the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ 38-20 win, Brown attempted to jump over Giants blocker Gunner Olszewski and tackle returner Devin Singletary.
It didn’t work. Brown’s leap was thwarted by Olszewski, and Singletary was tackled by Will Shipley after a 31-yard gain. But fans watching found Brown’s attempt to defy physics funny.
Videos of Brown’s jump — which ended up looking more like a flying knee to Olszewski’s helmet — circulated throughout the NFL community.
