A man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after he was struck by an NJ Transit train in Paterson, authorities said.

The train left Suffern shortly before 10 a.m. and was headed to Hoboken for an 11:06 a.m. arrival when the man was hit in the area of 5th Avenue, according to a spokesperson for NJ Transit.

The spokesperson said in an email the man was trespassing when he was struck about 10:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. Information about his condition was not immediately available.

There were no injuries to the 70 customers and crew members on board. Service was temporarily suspended but later restored with some delays.

NJ Transit police are handling the investigation.
