CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Do you live in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, East Cape or nearby communities?

If so, you can share your thoughts about the future of transportation in the area at two public meetings this week.

The Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization (SEMPO) is updating its Metropolitan Transportation Plan(MTP) for investments over the next 25 years.

The 2050 MTP will identify and prioritize projects for roadways, public transit, and bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, serving communities in the Cape-Jackson area.

This update will help ensure the region’s transportation system meets the evolving needs of its growing population and economy.

SEMPO will host two open houses to provide information and gather public feedback:
