EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Animal Services is reminding pet owners to take precautions to keep their pets safe during the Halloween holiday.

The City has provided a list of precautions to keep their pets safe. Those tips are the following: • Keep pets identified: Frequent doorbell rings and open doors can make it easy for pets to slip outside. Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with up-to-date ID tags and microchip information. (Pro tip: Write your phone number directly on your pet’s collar with a permanent marker as an added safety measure.) • Create a safe space: Loud noises, costumes, and unfamiliar visitors can be overwhelming for pets.
