Emma Stone is providing insight into her decision to keep her shaved head a secret.

The two-time Oscar winner shaved her head for her role in the newest Yorgos Lanthimos movie Bugonia , in which she plays a pharmaceutical CEO who gets kidnapped by conspiracy-obsessed men believing her to be an alien.

During an interview with People , Emma shared that she wanted to preserve an element of “surprise or an interesting moment,” even though she didn’t enjoy wearing beanies for months to keep her bald head hidden.
