BELGRADE — Belgrade Police detailed a shooting on Crockett Street on Monday night that left one person dead and an officer wounded.
The officer was treated and released from Bozeman Deaconess Hospital later that night, Police Chief Dustin Lensing said at a Tuesday afternoon press conference. Police were withholding the identity of the deceased person, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Belgrade Police responded to the call at 5:18 p.m. Monday.
"During the response, one of our officers, who was seated in his patrol car, came under heavy gunfire from the suspect," Lensing said. "The officer was struck by gunfire and injured.
