AMES — The hope at Iowa State wrestling media day last season was high, coming off a fourth-place finish at nationals and returning with ample talent in the lineup.

Then an avalanche of injuries came, with several season-ending ailments for their biggest stars like Yonger Bastida, Casey Swiderski, Anthony Echemendia and Connor Euton. Others, like Evan Frost and Evan Bockman, were wrestling through the pain as well.

Come 2025, Iowa State is feeling the same way they did one year ago. In fact, Iowa State has seven returning All-Americans, the most the Cyclones have had on one team since 1982-83.
