The Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots agreed to a surprise blockbuster trade involving standout veteran safety Kyle Dugger.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Steelers have acquired the 29-year-old Kyle Dugger and a 2026 seventh-round pick from their longtime AFC rivals in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

The trade was announced less than an hour after the Patriots sent defensive end Keion White to the San Francisco 49ers. The Pats also gave up a seventh-round selection in that deal, receiving a sixth-round pick in return.

The Steelers have had a problem at safety since sending All-Pro Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins in an offseason deal that brought cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to Steel City.
