Thanks to historic state and federal investments, Michigan has made significant progress toward the goals of the 2022 Statewide Housing Plan, driving private sector investment that has created more than 75,000 new housing units in the past four years.
But the need for attainable housing across our state remains great, with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority estimating that we still need 140,000 units of housing.
