A fatal hit-and-run case against Jermaine Adolphus Williams has been delayed after the state's star witness was murdered.

Witness Javore Tyleek Bentley was killed at a Marathon gas station on Aug. 2, just one block from where the deadly hit-and-run occurred three months earlier.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a dark-colored pickup truck struck a 43-year-old man on a bicycle in a marked crosswalk at approximately 9:19 a.m. on July 7.

The pickup truck immediately continued down the south trail before turning around and heading north.
