SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Sitting U.S. Congresswoman Mary Miller (R, IL-15) will face at least one challenger in the 2026 midterm elections following the petition filing by Jennifer Todd on Monday.

Todd, an Edwardsville Democrat, filed petitions with just under 1,400 signatures to challenge for the seat held by Miller since 2020.

“Turning in more than twice the number of required signatures from over 50% of the district says a lot about the heart and determination of the voters in this district,” Todd said in a statement announcing the filing. “I’m proud that our effort reflects the people of this district, hardworking, hopeful, and ready for a change.”

The Illinois 15th Congressional District covers all or parts of 35 counties and around 17,000 square miles of central and southern Illinois,
