As the government shutdown continues, families in the Upstate are expressing concerns about the potential loss of SNAP benefits, which many rely on for daily necessities.

Diamond Bolling, a single working mom, has relied on food stamps for everything from children's birthday cakes to daily meals. "It's not just for what you think someone looks like who's, you know, getting a free ride," Bolling said. "It's like I said, how are we going to cook dinner on Tuesday? How are we going to cook breakfast on Wednesday?"

According to the South Carolina Department of Social Services, nearly 74,000 households across the Upstate depend on SNAP benefits to make ends meet. Toby Miller lives in Spartanburg County with his fiancé. He expressed the tough choices families might face, saying,
