Two weeks after 26 people died in a bus fire near Jaisalmer, another bus accident in Rajasthan has left two people dead and 10 seriously injured in Manoharpur, about 50 kilometres north of Jaipur district headquarters, when the vehicle came in contact with a high-tension power line on Tuesday morning.
The sleeper bus was carrying over 60 people, including several families, from Uttar Pradesh.
Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa said the bus was carrying labourers who work at a brick kiln, who were travelling with their families, household items and goats. He said that at least one gas cylinder kept on top of the bus exploded. “The incident apparently happened when the bus was passing under a high-tension line. We are collecting factual information,”
