Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that Erling Haaland could be rested for Wednesday’s League Cup fourth-round clash against Swansea City, while midfielder Rodri remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from injury.

Haaland, who failed to score for the first time in 13 games during City’s 1–0 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday, collided with the post late in the match.

It came as a major point of concern, given that Haaland has single-handedly been almost the only source of goals upfront for City so far — having netted 11 out of the 16 total PL goals that the club has scored.

Guardiola confirmed the Norwegian’s knock is improving but said a late decision will be made on his involvement.
