ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. —

A Hardin County man will be spending the next several decades in prison for the murder of a woman in 2023.

Chris Bell was convicted last month of murdering Kenyeta Williams in Elizabethtown in December 2023.

Court documents said Bell fired several shots through Williams' front door, hitting her.

During Tuesday's sentencing, Williams' partner gave an emotional victim impact statement.

"Our front door was supposed to be our shield from the rest of the world. In December 2023, you turned that into a grave," said Cindy Hodge. "You fired shots through that door... murdered the woman I loved. She was not just someone, she was my heart, my partner, my best friend, my laugh in the morning, my comfort at night, and the reason I looked forward to tomorrow."
