PICAYUNE, Miss. (WLOX) - If the Coast had a runningback factory, it would be stationed in the City of Picayune.

The argument against that becomes harder and harder when you look at what Xavier Dennis has been up to over the past few weeks.

The junior exploded for 371 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in the win over Long Beach. That adds to his total of 711 rushing yards — not on the season, but over the past two games.

As crazy as it sounds, the Tide runningback still expects more of himself.

“I can put in more work,” said Dennis. “I mean, the job is never finished. You can always do better. I am trying to hit 400.”

That stellar performance is even more impressive considering it took time for Dennis to gain the starting spot.
