Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory has cultivated a new venture.
After more than a decade of hosting outside vendors, the conservatory will open its first self-operated café Thursday. Café Flora’s grand opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. It has had a soft opening in preparation for the official launch.
The menu features Old Crown Coffee, Nature’s Mercantile Tea, locally crafted wraps, sandwiches and pastries, plus packaged goods from Fort Wayne and regional small businesses.
The conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St., recently renovated the café and gift shop spaces off its foyer. Both are open to the public without admission.
The café will follow conservatory hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
