As he jogged off the pitch to catch his breath, Tuscarora senior Derek Schaerdel told boys soccer coach Todd Knepper that he didn’t need long to rest. He was going to go back in and score a goal.

This was late in regulation of a tied match. Schaerdel had never scored in a varsity contest for the Titans.
