JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A statewide poll conducted by the UNF Public Opinion Research Lab is giving new insight regarding the priorities and favorite candidates of Florida voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
The poll, which was conducted with 728 randomly-selected likely voters, asked which candidates voters prefer in key races, which will determine Florida's governor, attorney general, and a U.S. senator.
In what was once considered a swing state, polls again indicate a potential sweep for statewide Republican candidates in Florida.
Governor race
The leading candidates for Republicans were determined to be First Lady Casey DeSantis, who has not announced a run, and Byron Donalds, endorsed by President Trump.
On the Democrat side, the top picks for now are David Jolly and Jerry D
