TUCSON, Ariz. - (KVOA-TV) Tucson Unified, Southern Arizona's largest school district has struggled financially for years. Now, TUSD is putting its faith in voters, hoping they will pass a ballot measure next Tuesday that pumps tens of millions of dollars into the district's coffers.

TUSD is asking voters for something it hasn't had in more than a quarter century, a voter-approved override.

"It's for the kids, it's for the teachers, it's for the neighborhood school they drive by," TUSD Governing Board Member and parent, Natalie Luna Rose said. She urges her fellow parents and TUSD neighbors to back Prop 414, a seven-year override that will add $45 million per year to the budget for the first five years, an additional $30 million in the sixth and $15 million in the seventh and final year.
