CONNECTICUT (WTNH) -- Connecticut is keeping an eye on Jamaica as the Category 5 Hurricane Melissa made landfall on Tuesday and continues through the Caribbean island.
Marlon Henry lives in Jamaica but works at Scott's Nursery in Glastonbury during the summer and fall seasons. He has a wife and kids are back home while he's in Connecticut.
"When they need you, you are not there," Henry said about his family back home in Jamaica. "You have young kids going to school and stuff like that, it's a rough feeling."
Marlon is not alone in Connecticut, Quinnipiac University School of Communications Dean Nadine Barnett Cosby is also Jamaican and has friends and family enduring the storm.
