(NewsNation) — A member of the notorious Gambino crime family, Angelo Ruggiero Jr. has been denied bail and remains in custody after being arrested in an FBI probe into allegedly rigged poker games.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York said Ruggiero Jr. is being held due to a prior conviction for witness tampering.
At least three members or associates of the Bonanno crime family, including defendants Ernest Aiello and Julius Ziliani, were listed in the indictment.
A date has not yet been set regarding the arraignment of Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Bills and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, both of whom are on leave from their respective NBA franchises.
