The final round of the AFLW home and away season promises to be nervous watching for more than half of the competition's fans as eleven sides battle it out for seven finals spots still up for grabs.
As former AFLW All-Australian turned expert commentator Kate McCarthy says, outside of North Melbourne — which sits on top of the ladder having gone unbeaten for 23 games — this is the closest season we've seen in the women's competition to date.
"Going into round 12, this is easily for the most that has been on the line for so many clubs," McCarthy told ABC Sport.
"There are so many different scenarios and outcomes still to play out before we even get to finals."
