After navigating a longer road than expected to Autumn Glow’s first group 1 win, trainer Chris Waller is at ease heading into Saturday’s $10 million Golden Eagle with the unbeaten star.
He just wishes the race was still at their home track of Rosehill Gardens.
The Golden Eagle, the second-richest race in Australia, will be held at Royal Randwick this year for the first time after the decision to move the meeting from Rosehill, where it had been held since its inception in 2019.
The shift was announced in August – 10 weeks after the failed bid to gain approval from Australian Turf Club members to sell Rosehill to the NSW government for $5 billion.
