How mountaineer Jim Morrison made the first skiing descent of Everest's most dangerous route Updated 27 mins ago Mountaineer Jim Morrison has skied the last un-skied route on Mount Everest. Morrison told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the his journey down the North Face of Mount Everest on Oct. 15 was a spectacular four hours of skiing down a horrific snow pack. Morrison had prepared for the run for years. It starts at 29,000 feet in the death zone, where oxygen is scarce. Any small mistake would have meant a 9,000 foot fall. Documentarian Jimmy Chin filmed the run for an upcoming film. The adventure was originally planned with Morrison’s partner, who died in 2022. Morrison says he completed the run for both of them.
