On Oct. 25 at the Arizona State Capitol, Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers completed a historic feat; he flew the same locally made American flag at all 50 U.S. State Capitols.

“What a journey,” Weiers stated in a press release. “The patriotism across our great nation is still alive in every state. This flag is a symbol of unity – recognizing we are 50 States, 1 Nation!”

The flag of the United States of America has been a symbol of strength, unity, pride and inspiration for millions of American citizens. Since that first Congressional Act establishing an official flag in 1777, the American flag has been displayed around the world and beyond.
