HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Family members identified the 19-year-old woman who was killed in an early morning car crash Tuesday in Nanakuli as Tehya Mahelona.
Tehya’s mother, Amanda Mahelona, was grief-stricken while at a memorial staged near the site of the chain-reaction crash.
“We’re going to miss and love, we love her dearly,” a teary-eyed Mahelona said.
Mahelona said her daughter was walking to her job at Starbucks just before 5 a.m. when she was struck and killed.
Police reported two vehicles merged into the same lane on Farrington Highway and collided.
One of the drivers lost control and careened into Tehya, who later died at a hospital.
