A passenger bus crashed into a stationary truck on National Highway-16 in Balasore’s Jaleswar area, killing two and injuring several others.

The bus was traveling from Narsinghpur in Dhenkanal to Kolkata with over 40 passengers on board. Around 3 AM, it rammed into a broken-down truck near Lakshmannath. The impact instantly killed the driver, Mir Abdul Rahim (39) from Salepur, and the helper, Nrusingha Kathua (40) from Mahanga.

Soon after the crash, fire service teams rushed to the scene and rescued the injured. They transported victims to a nearby hospital for treatment. Among the injured were Parana Begum (25) and Gulhar Bibi (52) from Dhenkanal, Suresh Parida (29), Sanjeeb Sahu (30), and Manas Mohanty (25) from Bhadrak, Prabir Behera (30) from Kendrapada, and conductor Rudrajit Mahapa
