PISCATAWAY -Shane Cartagena-Walsh is proof one does not have to be a highly rated recruit to succeed.

A redshirt-sophomore for the Rutgers University wrestling team, Cartagena-Walsh has gone from being a walk-on to nationally ranked at 184 pounds.

“He’s very, very good. He loves this sport,’’ Rutgers head coach Scott Goodale said Oct. 21 at the team’s Media Day at Jersey Mike’s Arena. “We’re excited for his season.’’
