A claim by a retired judge that the public-private rehab of Boston’s White Stadium is riddled with civil rights violations sparked debate at the City Council that included whether ICE’s actions are an important local issue.
Sharon Frison, a retired Massachusetts Superior Court judge, is calling for City Hall to protect the civil rights of neighbors abutting Franklin Park, saying that the city’s plan to renovate White Stadium is an “affront to the community.”
She emphasized that protecting the civil rights of neighbors is especially crucial as residents are also feeling anxious over the actions of the Trump administration. The city of Boston, she argued, could help alleviate some of that.
