City of Ludington council members approved verge parking at the meeting on Monday, giving residents more parking options, especially with winter months approaching.
Verge parking is parking in the city right of way between the street and sidewalk in an approved parking area by which the adjoining property owner must obtain a zoning permit and build the space at their own expense.
“The whole idea was to add one more tool for people in dealing with their own parking issues and if the council adopts this, it could be something homeowners could consider in addressing their parking,” said councilor Jack Bulger
