Police in Lilongwe have arrested three more individuals on suspicion of inciting violence and assaulting Sylvester Namiwa during a protest, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to nine.
The three new suspects were brought to court and added to the original six facing charges in the case.
Principal Resident Magistrate Benjamin Chulu, who is presiding over the matter, asked the individuals to confirm their names, noting that the charge sheet had been amended to include the new suspects.
Today, the court will decide whether to give the suspects bail or not.
