1PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A White Plains man was killed late Monday when his Dodge Challenger veered off the road, flipped over, and slammed into a tree in a violent solo crash along a stretch of Maryland Route 5.
The wreck happened just after 11 p.m. near Moores Road, according to Maryland State Police. Troopers said 37-year-old Quentin Hook was driving northbound when his vehicle drifted off the roadway and into the grass for unknown reasons.
The muscle car then reentered the northbound lanes before swerving sharply left, shooting across the median, and slamming into a dirt berm. The impact caused the vehicle to roll over and crash into a tree with such force that Hook was killed at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no passengers were in the car at the
