It’s Week 8 of high school football in Connecticut with a number of games being played Wednesday and Thursday, giving players and fans a chance to enjoy Halloween on Friday.

There are games with playoff implications, for example, Bloomfield and East Catholic, who face off in a crucial game between two teams jockeying for one of eight playoff spots in Class S

Here are some of the top games to watch:

Platt (4-2) at Southington (3-3), Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.: Southington has won two of its last three, including a 28-20 victory over Manchester last week. Platt has won four of five, including a 41-10 Week 7 win over Simsbury. Sophomore quarterback Jacoby Roman has rushed for 597 yards and eight touchdowns in four games, and in the win over Manchester he passed for 195 yards and three TDs.
