A federal judge in Oregon has barred the Trump administration from conditioning the release of sex education grants on compliance with an executive order targeting so-called "gender ideology."

In January, President Donald Trump issued Executive Order 14168 , entitled "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government." Under the terms of the order, Trump directed agencies to "end" the federal funding of, and "ensure grant funds do not promote gender ideology."
