2Two-minute bomb threat spree ends with teen facing serious charges
ROCKVILLE, MD — A 17-year-old Silver Spring boy is accused of making two bomb threats just minutes apart to a Rockville medical office, setting off a chain of emergency protocols and forcing patients and staff to evacuate the building.
Montgomery County Police say the threats were phoned in to the Rockville Internal Medicine Group on Seven Locks Road at 9:40 a.m. and again at 9:42 a.m. on October 23. The caller claimed an explosive device had been placed inside the building.
The office was immediately cleared out as Montgomery County and Rockville police officers responded and launched a full search of the facility. The threats were quickly deemed baseless, with no device found on site.
