Another cool day is on tap for Massachusetts on Wednesday, with the possibility of some scattered ocean-effect rain showers before a storm brings heavy, windswept rain on Thursday.
A steady, cool wind coming from the northeast will keep a layer of clouds in place for much of the day Wednesday, with temperatures peaking in the low to mid 50s. National Weather Service forecasters say they “can’t rule out" some ocean-effect showers, primarily near Interstate 95.
“Any showers are more likely to be widely scattered in coverage with light accumulation if any,” forecasters wrote.
Thursday brings a significant change from the weather pattern earlier this week, as a strong low-pressure system arrives, bringing with it widespread moderate to heavy rainfall across the region.
