Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have officially achieved a key milestone in their ongoing integration by receiving a Single Operating Certificate. Also known as an SOC, this document, given to the carriers by the Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ), will allow Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to continue operating as two separate brands under the same umbrella.

This will ensure that the carrier's two distinct brand identities remain in existence, despite the fact that all of their flights are now operating under a single callsign, namely the designation previously used by Alaska Airlines. The news will be welcomed by Hawaiian Airlines and its passengers, who will be pleased to see that, while its callsign has now gone, its identity remains.
