Alaska & Hawaiian Airlines Get Single Operating Certificate: What Does It Mean For Passengers?

Also known as an SOC, this document, given to the carriers by the Federal Aviation Administration ( FAA ), will allow Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to continue operating as two separate brands under the same umbrella.

This will ensure that the carrier's two distinct brand identities remain in existence, despite the fact that all of their flights are now operating under a single callsign, namely the designation previously used by Alaska Airlines.
