Reba McEntire became emotional as she remembered her late stepson, Brandon Blackstock, during the latest episode of “The Voice.”

During the Oct. 27 episode of the NBC singing competition series, Team Reba contestant Aubrey Nicole decided to sing a song in the Knockouts round that honored her father and hit close to home for her coach.

“I realized that I could talk about something that really means a lot to me, which is supporting people through hard times, especially with cancer,” Nicole explained to McEntire and Mega Mentor Joe Walsh before revealing she was singing “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” by Martina McBride.
